A brilliant workshop led by artist and anthropologist, Rebecca Jewell who wowed us with her amazing collection of feathers and own prints transferred onto beautiful plumage. Here’s the work our students made in response!

Why did the chicken cross the road!? Are we still asking such simple questions fully aware that the answer won’t be informative nor will it be funny? What if you could discover why and how it crossed the entire globe, from south East Asia to every country in the World? Was there a time before we ate chickens and if so what did we use them for? What did chickens look like millions of years ago? How and why has their appearance changed since? Why if you call someone a chicken are we labelling them a coward? Why in that case is a rooster the French national symbol? And perhaps most importantly of all, through finding out about our feathered friends we will discover things out about ourselves that will shock, amaze and amuse us.
